So... the magical rental car selection turned out to be... THE DREADED VERSA. Damn!
Engine - 3.5/10 - Its OK. It makes noises and provides power. Seems somewhat torquey and is quiet.
Transmission - 1/10 - Pls.. pls no... I cant believe I have to spend 6 days with a CVT.
Suspension and Handling - 0/10 - My GOD, its like driving a loaf of bread. It wanders all over the place and I'm certain the low rolling resistance tires are not helping either. The steering is very vague and the amount of input needed to induce direction change is far too great. Its borderline unsafe. The Honda Fit and Scion Xd (from personal experience) both feel over 9000 times better than the Versa.
Interior - 4.5/10 - This is the best part about the Versa. It is honestly not that bad. It feels modern, feels almost VW like. The seats remind me of sitting on cardboard, but the fabric and unique color stitching is alright.
This car has roughly 6500 miles on the clock and still smells/feels brand new. I have no problems here, although I wish the steering wheel telescoped. Side note: A/C output is Florida approved.
Radio - 4/10 - Its a radio alright. Bass is BOSE boomy and highs are meh. Has USB and AUX connections = winning for a roadtrip.
Overall - This is a car for those who couldn't find a Mitsubishi dealer in their city.

Tbh, I would have a manual Versa Note over a Mirage.

Well, at least you'd have a lot more dealership support.

Have they improved the quality with the 2015s yet? The Note SL in my household creaks if you sit in the backseat on a driveway, and plenty of bits of the car weren't installed properly (bumper pins, footwell plastic, etc.).

Seemed fairly quiet but I did notice a small squeak in the back. I might report later.

This might be the tiniest windshield wiper I have ever seen! Wow, I'm impressed Nissan!

I had a rental version about a year or so ago.
I thought, with a name like "Versa," it would rival the Honda Fit for seat configurability.
I thought wrong.
There was nothing "Versa"tile about the Versa. Just an average, beige, pedestrian city car for way too much money, given the feature set.
I suspect these are only being built because Nissan knows some people with Maximas or Infinitis want a cheap, second car for their teenage daughter and don't want to have to open an account with a second dealership.
